tapping away!

I just bought a pair of flexible tap shoes at Golden Landmark today.. and they're quite exp.! Actually there're quite a number of online lessons on both the basic and more advanced tap dancing techniques like dig, shuffle, stomp, waves, single-time-step etc.. and i'm having fun experimenting with those taps
Maybe the floor for tap dancing has to be very smooth so it's easier to slide and i still havent found this kinda floor to prac yet.. Just now while learning the shuffle technique in front of my com. i had accidently left marks on the floor.. oops and when i noticed that, it was already too late.. haha they're quite significant marks but luckily i could remove some by wiping real hard.. i hope it wont be discovered, else i would be dead
From watching the performance videos, i think tap-dancing is one of the more versatile techniques as they can be incorporated into many other genres of dance like hip-hop, jazz, even ballet
and i just found this guy, Tom Chambers who tap danced with those percussions.. amazing and highly entertaining!
yea and the famous Riverdance is just superb!

blackie cant stand the scorching heat

i predict that in the very near future, i wld have to change about 50% of my yq's strings.. cos they keep breaking due to high tension.. Usually my tuning only occurs in one direction, i.e. i always have to tune them higher cos the pitch keeps going down, perhaps due to the heat in my room.. Another of my bass string broke today while i was practicing.. and it's supposed to be one of the more difficult to break ones

And i wonder why on average i've to change the rubber for the sticks every 5 days, even when i'm already using the thickest rubber available. Hmm it's suppose to last at least 2-4 wks, plus i dont practice every hr of the day.. it's just perplexing. Those normal rubbers are even worse, it could only last about 2-3 days for me. Plus I just realized that the cost of these rubbers have doubled when i went to bras basah this afternoon and so i ended up buying none.. gosh it's getting expensive to maintain the inst.!

H.M.D.

yea! finally finished carving out this pic after nearly 4 hrs. Though i wished it could have looked better.. haha i think the sample still looked more life-liked than my carvings. But I've to be thankful i didnt quite spoil it, i think can still make out they are dolphins not unknown creatures of the sea.. haha! I guess the most challenging part is adjusting to the blinding reflection from the silver foil and trying to make out those pale sketch marks at the same time
right... almost time to leave it at where it shld be.. hee!
Happy mother's day to all!
